What is the max ram I can run in a late 2007 macbook pro

I have a late 2007 or early 2008 macbook pro the one with the silver keyboard...almost looks like a g4 powerbook. Wondering what the maximum amount of ram it can use....it has 4 gb now and runs 10.10 like a champ but what I know from windows pc's you can never have enough ram so i may consider adding some if i can

At the time of release APple said 4GB, now we know it can handle 6GB, 1x4GB and 1x2GB.
