What is the best advice you can give to someone who 'don't get on with computers'

Undertake classes to learn the basics. Many computer stores offer classes.

Most community colleges/centers, senior centers offer computer basics classes from usage, safe web browsing, security basics, and so on. That's the best way for someone unfamiliar with computers at all to get started with learning the basics and then experimenting on their own.
