I've noticed recently that my free drive space has been dwindling away. Today I finally got fed up and ran WhatSize to see what's going on. I noticed that there's a folder in the highest level of my hard drive called "Private" that's more than 5 gigs big. The sub-folder that is taking up most of the space is called "var" and there's another folder in there called "vm." There are a bunch of files in this folder named "swapfile" with a number at the end. These files are all the same size: 512MB. The only thing in the "vm" folder is yet another folder called app_profile.
Does anyone have any clue what this stuff is? I'd like to delete it, but not if its gonna mess stuff up.
Any help would be appreciated.
