These are all "cheap" hosting services, so they are all interchangeable largely.

I've used Bluehost, GoDaddy, Dreamhost from back in the day when I used to host websites.

You'll get a lot more useful responses if you state how you intend to use the hosting service.

I've used Namecheap for years. it serves my basic needs. Just wondering if their is something better to try for a similar price?

I don't really need hosting, its just something to tinker with for fun. I usually get a domain and never promote it or tell anyone about it. lol

If you're tinkering for fun, then do it with the cheapest option. And if Namecheap does that for you, that's totally fine.

Your thread title is bit misleading since you stated "web hosting" in there.

web hosting is what the thread is about. wanted to see what hosting others use or have used and why they liked or hated the one they chose. . I guess no one here uses hosting since their seems to be few comments or votes. my vision is not great so sorry if my post was not clear.

Well, if you're going to run a website, that's usually in service of a business or something, a lot of folks go down the Squarespace, Shopify route to get a better out-of-the-box experience.

Others who are setting up sites for other reasons might use Wix, Wordpress.com.

Even others who are interested in creating a blog, magazine or something will end up on places like Medium.

If, on the other hand, you are serious about setting up a website, then you end up on AWS/GCP/Azure and build it out with a lot of technologies.

So, in the end, these cheap webhosting services are really meant to simple websites and enthusiasts and there aren't too many of those folks on this forum.

Nothing wrong with your question, just the wrong audience. 😃

I host all of my web sites (and my e-mail, and my domain name) with this company, and I can't recommend them highly enough:

ICDSoft
http://icdsoft.com/
http://www2.icdsoft.com/hosting/usa

For $96/year ($120/year currently for the first year) I get all of the bells and whistles and great 24/7 service! (Support is via a dedicated Web portal. Answers arrive in less than 10 minutes no matter when you ask them! However, there is no telephone support.) A huge amount of Web space, unlimited e-mail addresses and e-mail hosting, the facility to quickly and easily set up e-mail discussion lists, etc. Renewal of my domain name only costs $8.38. They never seem to experience any down time.
