Hey,

I have had my mac for about 6 months now and always keep it out of its case when using, i have never had it sitting on a bed or anything that would stop venting. But last night I noticed two strange lumps on the bottom of the casing, any ideas as to what could be causing this? overheating maybe?

they are too hard to photograph, but they are noticable to touch as they are protruding from the shell of the laptop.

thanks!

Well i dare say if it is warped, in this situation heat could be the contributing factor.

Might be time to drop into the *geniuses* .........

I may have a similar problem with my Macbook Pro (15" Aluminium Unibody, July'09). 3 of the legs at the bottom rest firmly on a flat surface while the fourth is raised 3mm off table - just enough to annoy me with its rocking motion whenever I use it. I've scheduled a visit to the Genius Bar on Monday 22/02 to get a professional diagnosis. I'm interested to hear what your experience was like.

After a quick visit to the Genius Bar, the chap opened up my machine and said the problem was caused by the 2 clips on the inside of the bottom cover having popped out. He re-seated these and all is well again!
