Hi All,

Recently traded up from an Xs to a 13.
Since updating IOS to 16 my lock screen wallpaper disappears and goes black - this also happens on my friends 13.

Have just updated IOS to 16.2 to see if this has a bug fix for it, but not holding my breath.

Is anyone else having a similar issue and are there any known fixes?
Have tried:
Resetting the wallpaper; setting up other wallpapers and then re-select the original; turning off and on and a reset. These have all worked for a limited period of time.

Have a good one

It disappears very randomly, it may take a day and other times it's just minutes.

@Blazbo

I think it would be useful to initiate a Full/Force Restart of your iPhone.

See here for details:

This is a well recognised way of clearing out caches and possible glitches on an iPhone. It will do no harm.

After doing this, please post back.

I did have the same issue (occasionally) with my works iPhone 11 after upgrading to IOS16. I use to switch it off at weekends, and on re-boot it would go straight to the black screen, a shut-down and re-start normally fixed it, and it did not seem to affect any of the other services.
