Hey everyone,

I was wondering is it possible to run VMware on Mac so that I can run a virtual windows server and a few virtual client PC's.

Anyone know if this is possible?

Im between buying a second hand Powerbook or a new 17"iMac so I want to know before I buy.

To my little knowledge of VMWare is that it runs similarly to Parallels (which is a great product by the way)

But anyways I believe it requires an intel processor. So I don't think it will run on the Power Book.

Hope that helps

Parallels and VMWare require an Intel processor. You can still run Windows via virtual machine by using Microsoft's Virtual PC (Free). I have seen it run Windows Server 2003 on a G4 Powerbook and it doesn't do too bad. Just don't expect normal performance.

Sounds good to me. I don't want to run any MS OS, but I have to because I am preparing for my MSCE certification so I don't have much choice until that is over. I just want to try avoid buying a pc. Can't go down that route again!

Good luck with your MCSE. I have an MCSE on 2000 (never bothered upgrading to 2003, I guess in kind of SOL at this point).
