I recently replaced my internal harddrive on my Macbook, and I knew that I would probably have to re-register every third-party app I have, but even after I re-registered VisualHub, it doens't open. I erased it and re-downloaded it 4x and it still just bounces once on my dock and does nothing. Any ideas??

Thanks!!

Does "Console" say anything in it's log after you try to open the app. And have you fully erased it each time including any prefrences and other miscellaneous files it might have created?

Yeah I fully deleted it, I moved any files to an external so they shouldn't be lurking. But yeah, console came up and said quite a lot, but to be honest, I didn't really know what it all meant. I hit the cleaning button thinking it needed to be cleaned, but as you probably know, it didn't matter. I just click on the icon in the dock, and it jumps once and does nothing. I don't know what to do...

I Beg You!!!!! Need Help!!

Awhile ago I purchased VisualHub knowing that I would need to convert my videos. But it won't open!! I dragged it in the dock and when I click on it, it bounces once then does nothing. When I open up Console, it says that the image was not found. How is that possible? I've deleted and redownloaded it several times in the hope it will finally work, never does though. So now I have a program I paid for I can't use. The IT guys at their site were of no help to me. Any ideas?? Is there something hidden somewhere that needs to be trashed before I can redownload it again...

Thanks!!!

Look into Macintosh HD -> Library -> Receipts, it should be there if you installed the app through a regular installer or package (.pkg). If the installer was just a .dmg make a Spotlight search on your hard drive to fish out all the left over files related to that app.

Then restart in Safe Mode - by holding down the Shift key - this ought to clean certain items in still in cache (you will see items in your user's trash). Then restart normally and download MainMenu and run all the cache cleaning scripts (for the System, choose Deep Clean) before you try a reinstall.

Thanks!! I did exactly what you said, and considering the process figured it would definatley work; but Im afraid it still did nothing. It only bounced once, and in the Console it said the image could still not be found. I have NO idea what is going on....I really appreciate your help though!!!

Thanks MacHeadCase

Instead of the Docs icon, open the Apps folder and open it from there.

It does nothing from the apps folder. When i click on it from the apps, nothing shows up, that's the reason I threw it in the dock, so I can at least monitor how many times it bounces, or if it responds to me trying to open it at all. I have tried everything, i have no idea what to do. Looks like I have to find another "Visualhub" out there to try, seeing as I am unable to ever be able to use it...

I will suggest these to you: Resetting MacBook and MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC) and Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM.

If these don't work, get in touch with VisualHub's developers and ask for assistance. Shareware developers are usually a pleasure to deal with when their apps don't work: they care about their products and enjoy feedback and bug reports to help them make their app better.

Report back with your findings in case anyone else in the community has the same problem as you do: this help them as well to sort out this problem.

Right Click on the App, select "Get Info" and see what the file size is. It should be about 4.6 Mb.

Also, find and delete the file:

com.techspansion.visualhub.plist

Then try again.

I just tried to find the .plist, and it doesn't exist on my computer. Is that why the image cannot be found? The info under my VisualHub is 8 mb as well, a little larger than what you said, whatever that means...

Thanks for your help!!!!

Ok, delete whatever you have that says VisualHub and go download it again. Make sure you get the most current Universal version.

http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/

I grabbed VisualHub and installed it on my iMac G5. Mine is 8MB and works great. Going to try it on my Intel Mac and will report back.

Edit: On my Core Duo Mini. 10.4.10. The file size is 8MB, but the aditional software it asks to install is 4.6MB. Opens here in 2 bounces and works perfectally.

Still nothing. "No suitable image found." Wouldn't downloading it again give me another .plist? How is there no image found?
