I have a virus or malware that is causing ads to show up everywhere on my iMac whether I'm using Firefox, Chrome or Safari.
I have been using ClamX for protection which found no threats. I tried AVG for Mac and it found 7 threats and removed them. None of this fixed the situation so I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and Chrome. Problem solved. Unfortunately Safari is still having this problem of random ads popping up on any website that I go to. As far as I can tell, uninstalling Safari is not an option so for now I just do not use it but I prefer to use Safari. Suggestions?

2011 iMac. OSX 10.10.2 Yosemite. Oddly when I click on "About this Mac" the pop up window at the first line says "135122 version 10.10.2. I don't remember ever seeing that.

This is a bug in Yosemite that shows up when you have some language Other Than English selected as primary language.
