I've been using this camera successfully, mostly for Skype, on my Mac Pro since I was given it perhaps five years ago. A few months ago, I noticed that it was producing what appears to be a negative picture. Probably a settings fault, I thought, but there is nothing in System Preferences for controlling video. Where do I go to correct this?

It sounds more like the camera is failing not something that can be adjusted from video settings. Unless the camera has an accompanying program from which you can make adjustments, you're probably looking at buying a new one.
