I'm using a macbook, still haven't installed leopard yet.

The problem is this.

I can't download anything to my desktop, I figured out how to switch the default to a folder on the desktop, so now I CAN download things.

Probelm is, I can't download torrents.

In order to use tomato, I have to have the torrent on the desktop, which I can't move anything to.

And anytime I try to delete anything old that's still on my desktop, it asks me to type in my password to authenticate, which I do.

And then it tells me that I do not have sufficent privileges to do so.

It's driving me mad.

I think something might be up with your account. Do you have administrative privileges?

I'm not sure what you mean by account.

I type in my password, and it still doesn't work.

It started doing it a few months back, after I had work done on my computer.

Right click on the desktop. When the menu shows up select "Get Info". Another window should pop up. Make sure that the "Locked" check box is unchecked.

By messing around with those settings I was able to reproduce your problem. Let us know if you need more help.
