I have a usb drive which was formated in windows using the fat file system. When i plug it into my mac its all fine and i can read the drive but when i want to eject thats where the problem starts. in windows you can just pull it out whenever you want.
To eject i figure i would press eject on my mac and then pull it out. but when i press eject then it redetects it and places it on my desktop again. finally i just pulled it out but then i lost all my data and i had to reformate it on my windows machine.

i don't have one of those drives so i'm not completely sure, but i think what you should do is when you want to eject, to either drag it to the trash icon in the dock (which will turn into an eject icon when you start dragging it), or control-click on it and select "eject" from the contextual menu. hope that helps!
