USB-C charger adapters

I made a quick search regarding this issue but could not find what I was looking for, so here goes:

A few weeks ago, I bought myself a new 13" MacBook Pro. This replaced a great 2011 15" MacBook Pro. I am a teacher so I use my unit at home and at school. As a result, I had two MagSafe chargers which avoided having to lug a charger with me. I still have my spare but, obviously is useless for now. Does anyone know of an adapter or a way that would allow me to connect the MadSafe connector (please see image) to my computer's USB-C?

Many thanks,

Emile

I gather you want to use your old MagSafe charger to charge your new MacBook Pro that only has USB-C? There are various adapters for USB-C to attach hard drives, optical drives, etc, but I have not seen anything that could adapt the older MagSafe to the USB-C charging port. I will look around and try to find something if it exists.

Edit: Found this on Amazon.

An interesting article on to bring back MagSafe charging to your USB-C device.

From what I can find there are some looking into creating one but so far nothing solid. Apple even patented an adapter but has yet to create one. So for now hang in there and keep googling to see if anyone creates one.

If I'm understanding your dilemma correctly there seems to be some solutions via here:
https://www.google.ca/search?client...F-8&gfe_rd=cr&dcr=0&ei=GJGDWtW7Iunj8Aect6bQAQ

and maybe here:
https://www.amazon.ca/s/?ie=UTF8&ke...=kwd-301883081682&ref=pd_sl_20sdn0r7hv_b?tag=

But for the price of most likely possible adapters, you could probably just purchase a new USB-C charger, no???

EDIT:
How about this:

@Emile

I understand your fondness for the MagSafe charger - and you are certainly not alone.

And our Admin, chscag, may have found you an adaptor.

But the new 13 inch MacBook Pro ships with a USB-C charger and cable so you are not without a means of charging the Mac. Is it just your preference for the MagSafe or is there a problem with the new charger?

I can sure understand users preference for utilizing the breakaway connector that's missing, but at least some third-parties have provided some solutions if that is the OP's intention like:

Here are some more ways to bring MagSafe charging back to your USB-C MacBook Pro

Edit here for that link:
Sorry Charles, this duplicates the URL you provided above.

And more hits with a google search:

Speaking of USB-C and adapters, I came across this image today that I guess gives some indication as to the lengths and methods one might have to go through to get things working with their later Mac models: ;D

Many thanks, I an. I apologize for the late reply. The answer to your question: I teach and use my Mac at work as well as at home. When I had my old Mac, I had purchased a second MagSafe just for the sake of convenience (one MagSafe in my pack for school; another at home so I don't have to connect and disconnect. After disposing of my old Mac, I am left with the 2nd MagSafe, which is why...

Thanks again.

WOW! Going as far as rigging a VHS connector? That's how the "New World" was discovered.

Cheers and thanks.
