USB 2.0 drive problems with macbook

I have a Macbook with snow leopard on it. Yesterday, i inserted in my memory stick with no problems!
But this morning i tried to insert my memory stick it just says the message
"The disk you inserted could not be readable by this computer" and then with the options "Initialize...", "Cancel" and "Eject".
I don't know what should i do i need some help because i have many stuff in there even though it's only 2 GB!
But I need HELP!!!

Try it on another computer to see if it's readable. If it refuses to be read on another computer, the drive may be toast. Many flash drives (especially the over the counter cheap ones) are not built to last. Never use a flash drive as a permanent storage device.

And... do not format it with your Mac. If you do, you will not be able to use it properly on a PC. It will only be Mac useable.

The problem here is (most likely) that you are pulling the memory stick out without ejecting it, thus corrupting the directory. Eventually the stick will become unusable unless you stop doing that.

Memory sticks/thumb drives are like any other removable drive; on Mac *OR* pc, they have to be ejected properly or there is a risk of data loss.

The right way to remove a mounted memory stick is to drag it to the trash, wait for any activity (usually indicated by a flashing light on the stick) to stop, then remove it. Alternatively you can select the mounted stick by clicking on it ONCE, then press the eject key (or right-click and choose "eject").

OOOOOO! That Why. I keep pulling the memory stick out. Is there anyway to fix it?

Oh! and i had this problem before with my psp when i was trying to put stuff! But i fixed just by Restoring to Default Settings. Is there anyway to "Restore Default Settings" on my memory stick?
