HELP

i need help as i am out of ideas at the moment and dont know what to do.. i have tried all the things on the apple site

my problem(s) are as follow

bought a g5 dual 2.0 (early 2005 ) with liquid damage to the processor cards but the logic board was not touched

bought a dual 2.7ghz processor with LCU (liquid cooling unit ) attached plonked it in bolted it in and it powered up and works..

when it came to connecting it to the display to then run the copy of the apple service diagnostic 2.5.7 cd i managed to get ahold of.. it wont do video so i dont know if its a video card problem or a logic board prob..

no video feed & the apple keyboards dont seem to respond with the usb but apple mouse all diff versions power up when plugged direct into the usb front or back.. but not when powered from the hub on the keyboard..

please help

the logic board i have in it is 820-1592-A
it has the standard video card
standard 600w power supply

anything else you wanna know about the computer to help solve this problem please reply by here or pm me.

Thanks

Bad news is coolant is similar to your car's anti-freeze, and is just as corrosive. Coolant leaks usually equals death.

i got the processor-less g5 i bought working by getting the dual 2.7 unit and bolting it in.. there is no coolant on the logic board.. but since starting it up to do the thermal cal.. i noticed that usb keyboards dont power but mice do when plugged direct into the usb not via the keyboard..

and also the video card dont seem to be sending video feed to display.

any ideas..

Here is a link about 2.7GHz G5's still being repaired as late as last month under warranty by Apple. Your problem is of course it is not the original CPUs:-

my problem is that its not the cpu's

its the video card and the lack of a keyboard working on the computer thats my problems.. ( the usb is sending power as like i said all versions of apple mice power up..and i just tried a usb flash disk and a cooling fan i made usb powered for my ps3 and they all work but the keyboard. )

but the thing is the keyboards work when plugged into my g4 laptop and also my graphite g4 tower so i dont see whats wrong..

i understand the reason for the video problem being that i might need a new video card.. but as for the usb keyboard problem

any ideas for Any of this??

when i turn my g5 unit on the fans go as normal and it idles but the white light on the front dont seem to stay lit is this because i aint ( and cant run the thermal cal yet due to the lack of video and keyboard feeds.. )
