upgrading powerbook g4 processor ?

Hi all,
i'm using my mac (powerbook g4 17" 1.33ghz 2gb ram 80gb harddrive) for live dj shows with abelton live 6 having problems
with it stalling and getting the multi coloured circling ball of despair appear
all too often. if i flick between itunes and abelton when in use more often than not it will stall. i upgraded the ram to 2gb from 1 a good while back but the problem persisted. is it possible to upgrade the processor for this model?
or could there be some underlying software conflict?

I don't think Powerbook G4 CPUs are upgradable at all. The Powerbook G3s were, but I'm pretty sure that Apple nix'd CPU upgrades on their portable line after the Pismo G3. None of the iBooks were upgradable, either.
