I have been using the computer for about two years now and it has been great. However I have gotten back into photography and started loading RAW files onto it and running Lightroom 5. This has slowed down the computer, so I just installed a 256gb Crucial SSD for $105. It runs much better but once I start loading high end applications like Adobe it slows down again. My system report says I am using 2.86gb of my 3gb of ram during my NORMAL applications (non-Adobe). I do not have a lot of money (broke college student) I wanted to up the RAM to 6gb but it costs over $100 for a 4gb stick! I am not sure if going from 3gb to 4gb of RAM would make any difference at all. Any suggestions on what I should do? Its important to note that I have a HP screen attached to the iMac so that is using some graphics. I also have a Mid 2012 13" MacBook Pro with a core core i7 in with 8gb of RAM. I barely use this computer because I am always on the iMac. Not sure if I could incorporate that computer into this somehow, I could install an SSD in it and make it a Desktop... but I really love this 24" screen!
Hi everyone! This is my first post here on the forum and I hope to become an active community member since I share my love for Mac's with many of you! Here's the deal: I own a 2007 24" iMac with a 2.8 and 3gb of RAM. I got this computer for free from a family member because it had a blown power supply which I was able to replace myself for $100.
