I have a white macbook 2007 that can get up to 6gb of ram. Is there any other sites that is certified to work great on mac?

I just want to compare prices to OWC. Thanks.

I've already checked Crucials site and they don't have 4gb stick for my model.

Yeah…the 6gig max ram (2gig + 4gig) on the 2007 MacBook is not "officially" supported by Apple (but it does work). And Crucial seems to only list the "officially" supported ram upgrades. I can almost guarantee that Crucial does have that 4gig stick for 2007 MacBooks…you just have to look harder for it (search by ram spec).

Just use the info from OWC for the 6gig ram upgrade (below)…and search Crucial for it:

http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other World Computing/5300DDR2S6GP/

* PC-5300, 667mhz, 200pin

p.s. If you order direct from Crucial and OWC…prices are generally pretty close. But Crucial ram prices on Amazon can be lower.

You have 4GB of memory, 6GB will not do much. Your main problem is nearly a nine year old computer, old processor and old gfx card. The biggest bang for your buck will be a solid state drive, known as an SSD. Again check Owc and Crucial for your model.

I disagree on the age of the mac. I bought this mac brand new and its still working as such. A 2gb upgrade is a freaking lot of ram to work with along with 25gb of hd space.

My only problem right now with 4gb ram is if I use Adobe CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator, these versions take up so much ram that I can't open up other programs or it'll start to be sluggish after a while. But using Photoshop alone is no problem with 4gb.

I do some programming as well and don't have any problems with running multiple softwares.

My mac works great, I'll look to upgrade when I can't get the newest adobe softwares.

Another note of warning. If you have only 25GB of hard drive space available, beware you are below the minimum 25% recommendation of free space. Under that 25% you will see the drive starting to slow down, and the spinning beachball pretty constantly. And really 2GB for the money is nothing.

Harry. I have a 2008 iMac that takes 6GB Max. With Mavericks up to El Capitan the extra 2GB does really help. The only thing that bugs me is a DDR2 4GB Stick is so expensive and you are only getting 2GB more, but it does help very noticeably here.

That $119 for the crucial seems good. I think OWC wants more for that 4GB stick. Been a while since I last checked.

I do agree on the 25GB free. That is getting quite low and might slow things down. If you have an external maybe you can move some large say video files to the external and give the internal a bit more room to work.

4gb from OWC is $107. I've checked around, OWC seems to have the best price and I've never had problems with their rams.

Cool beans as they say. Sounds like OWC lowered their 4GB a bit. I love their products.

And +1 for OWC.
