Hi,
I'm hoping for some advice. I have a G5 with OSX 10.3.9. I also have a Macbook with OSX 10.4.10. I want to upgrade the OSX 10.3.9.

Can I just use the 10.4.10 install discs from the Macbook as a way of upgrading the 10.3.9 G5? If so, are there any reasons NOT to do this? Any potential complications or slow-downs?

Many thanks in advance for the advice!

You cannot use the grey restore discs from one machine to upgrade another, the discs simply will not work.

You really need a retail copy of Tiger that will install on any Mac, but the second hand market are asking some silly money for retail Tiger disks

Leopard discs can be ordered by phone from Apple, not online or in an Apple Store. But, they might be in short supply. Better hurry! (If your G5 will run Leopard... how much RAM? You should have 1GB, although half that is all that's recommended as minimum)
