Update iPhone 5S to IOS 8.1

Hello there,
i have a 5S, and IOS 7. All it´s working nice and smooth.
My question is do you think i should upgrade to IOS 8.1?
Is there so many advantage on IOS8.1 that i could take a chance of being with a problem with a equipment because of the upgrade?
i´m so afraid that anything stay working badly because of IOS 8.1? lag, battery, for example

No problems here with iOS 8.1 for both my iPhone and iPad. Battery life seems better with iOS 8.1. Just make sure you backup your iPhone to either iCloud or to your computer using iTunes before making the upgrade.
