I have a new 15" Unibody MacBook Pro, how scratch resistant / stain resistant is the aluminum of the case, palm rests & lid?
I take care to keep my hands clean, & keep it in a well padded laptop case when not being used.
.
Thanks!

From what i have seen posted on here, the Unibody is quite scratch prone.
Remember IT IS ONLY aluminium, and its a very soft one at that.

If you keep it safe as you say then you shouldnt have any problems ...
but remember IT IS ONLY aluminium ;P

Cheers

it scratches very easily, I have a few unpleasant scratches on my left palm rest ... and believe me, you wouldn't like the bottom of the computer, all those scratches from sliding around on a table ... but the lid is fine and so is my right palm rest :D

it does scratch just like anything else and being silver, the big scratches are visible

edit:
reading this again I should point out that I do use the computer all day every day with lots of stuff around me, while I am careful not to damage my MacBook I don't want my post to sound like it scratches just by laying your hands on it ... you don't have to wipe your keyboard every 10 minutes and vacuum your desk just to prevent scratches

my point being, I don't treat my notebook like a little baby or carry it around on a velvet pillow ... it is a sturdy design, but it will scratch

I've had mine for a month and I use it all the time. No scratches yet. I'm careful with it, but I don't handle it with kid gloves either. So far it's holding up well :)

Grab your car keys and just drag it over the surface of the MBP. That way you won't have to worry about it. Quick and fast. :p

Excellent feedback. I too take great care with my equipment, while not being too obsessive :) I find it's not that hard really, and it greatly increases the resale value on that occasional item I might sell.
