It's virtually new.  I installed it in a computer that was acting up, but everyone thought the problem was a faulty drive, but it ended up being the motherboard and not the drive, so the drive itself is hardly used. Not being able to write to it seems to be a permissions issue, and not a bad drive.</blockquote>
