I am trying to share my OS X folders with a Windows XP computer. Here's what I have done so far:
1. confirmed that I have installed BSD
2. on Mac, a new user account names 'Joe'
3. under System Preferences, selected 'Sharing' and enabled 'File Sharing'; then added a folder to be shared
4. Added 'Joe' user under the 'Users' and gave Read & Write permission
On Windows XP computer I:
a. checked that I can ping my Mac computer
b. created a new Map Drive with path \\MacComputer\<shared folder name>
c. entered user name (\\MacComputer\Joe\) and password.
Here's wher I have a problem. When I enter the password on the Windows XP computer (step c above), the dialog box just prompts me back to enter the password.
I cannot figure out how to share my Mac shared folders to Windows XP computer. Please help.
