For some reason I'm having trouble with running Activity Monitor.

It says to repair disk permission in disk utility. I've never done this before, but has someone else run in to this problem? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

You should try doing what it tells you to do.
Disk Utility is here. HD>Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility

Click on Macintosh HD and close to the bottom will be "Repair Disk Permissions"
Try it.

If that refuses to work. There are 3rd party Monitors. or. If you installed the XCode tools, your Terminal will have alot of GNU/Linux commands which includes "top", an activity monitor.

Terminal can be found here:
HD>Applications>Utilities>Terminal
type "top" (no quotes)

Top guide. http://linux.about.com/od/commands/l/blcmdl1_top.htm

Hope it helps.

Did you try to repair permissions already or just ignored the prompt?
