unable to find driver - panic hanging here

I have a graphite clamshell booting up to a grey screen.

panic(cpu 0): Unable to find driver for this platform: "PowerBook 2,2".

panic: We are hanging here...

I can get to single user mode, so any command line utilities may be useful.

I don't have any disks.

How can I fix it?

Can you download a combo update and run that from a USB stick

Can you run fsck

Can you boot up in safe mode (S on startup)

Do as loishen suggests and make sure you always have the system OS install disc for troubleshooting. You must have had the system disc at one stage to install Panther?
