Unable to delete mail

I am having a strange issue here that will not allow me to delete email.

Whenever I try to delete, or move to trash an email, I receive a message in a box that reads:

"The message could not be moved to the mailbox "Trash-comcast.net"

“75918.emlx” couldn’t be copied to “Messages” because an item with the same name already exists."


This pertains to any one particular email that I highlight, or multiple emails. Same results.

Any ideas? This is with "Mail v5.3"

Suggest you get on to Comcast forums and see if they can help. You sure are using an old operating system as the current Mail is version 9.2.
