My husband does not want to update his version os iTunes (don't get me started on why) but I just bought a new iPod and need to use the latest version. I've created my own Mac account on my computer to have my own Library, but I'm trying to determine:

If I update iTunes on my account, will it update iTunes on his account too?

I believe iTunes installs at the system level as opposed to user level, so if you were to update, it'll most likely ask you permissions to update at the system level and both of you will get updated..

As with a lot of apps these days it locks you out of things by not having the latest version
might be time to ask for your own Mac.

Tell him that if he is going to refuse to update iTunes then he is going to have to buy you your own new Mac!
