Two Bluetooth speakers

Mac Mini, late 2014, High Sierra.

I've got two Bluetooth speakers, both pretty good (alright, not $1000 stuff, but good for me!), and I have them both connected to the Mac (a Fender Newport and a Sony SRS).

Trouble is, Mac throws wobblies when I switch from one to the other. I have to delete them from the Bluetooth preferences and reinstate them, which is a pain in the bum.

Is it something I'm doing wrong, or aren't Mac Bluetooth settings ready for multiple speakers?

As far as I know, only bluetooth speakers that can "pair" themselves can be used simultaneously.

Here's an article that may help you set it up,

Good idea, Bob.

One word of caution for folks interested in trying this idea: I used this utility a while ago to combine the input from a couple of different microphones and found the utility itself to be a little "twitchy'. Sometimes the setup worked right away, and at other times it took a couple of tries to make things work,

I think this is also possible with third-party software such as Audio Hijack Pro.
