Trouble deleting mailboxes

How do I delete a mailbox in Mail? I have tried to delete a mailbox by going to Mailboxes - delete, and the mailbox remains. I get no message at all other than 'are you sure you want to delete this mailbox'. I then click the 'delete' button on that message, and nothing happens. Very annoying.:radioacti

Just to be sure. you did select the mailbox to be deleted and then selceted the delete option under the drop down menu?
