For some reason I have lost all the music on my iMac. I have it all in my iPad Pro but cannot find a way to transfer it since Apple removed iTunes.
I can sync but it tells me I will remove all my music from my iPad.
Anybody got any ideas without me having to spend money on an App which I am not sure will work.

If it's music that you've purchased via the iTunes Store, you should be able to re-download it from there.
Other than that, do you not have a backup?

You can transfer the music from your iPad back to your Mac with third party software. One that I know which works is iMazing 2. Not free but is usually on sale somewhere.

@ JKS - I dislike using iTunes (whether before or in the Finder now) - employ mainly after ripping music from my CDs (or downloaded purchased MP3s) on my computer to transfer to my iDevices, and then setup playlists and drag to my iPad(s) - don't play around w/ sync functions.

Now Charlie has suggested using iMazing and provided a link - the DL is free but not sure how functional the app might be w/o a purchase. I've been using the app to transfer music from my iDevices back and forth to my Mac computers - so just to illustrate how the process proceeds, see the screen captures below - first shows my iPad Pro connected to my MBAir and the Music app chosen; I've selected 2 recordings of 'Guitar Quintets'; second shows that 'Music' is selected on the laptop and third that the files are transferring; finally, Finder is opened on the MBAir and the recordings are there w/ their cover art. Now you may have to pay but the price is small if a 'deal is on' - also the app has many more features.

There are other apps that may do the same maneuver(s) w/ music but likely will still cost. Dave :)
