Transfer info from hard drive

Hello, I had recently taken out the hard drive from my water damaged mac and would like to transfer the information on it to my new mac, wondering how I should go about that. Is there some sort of specific external hard drive that I can put it into to do this? And where's the best place to purchase it (please send link). Thanks in advance :)

Buy a case from your local computer dealer. Depending on your Mac, go with a Firewire case or USB 3.0 case. Put the old drive in the case. Connect it to your new Mac (preferably at the time you're setting it up, where Migration Assistant can put things back correctly).
