G'day and welcome to the forums.

Times New Roman is a font that appears in Microsoft Office. If you do a Google you will find it pretty dear to purchase.

Your Mac should have come with complete versions of both Times and Times New Roman. You should not have to install anything.

Yes it "should" come with and it "should" work, but the fact is, that I have times new roman installed and my font looks like ancient runes squiggles. Is there any way to repair or fix this. All the forums say the same thing, "It should work." :Grimmace:

Can you post a screenshot of this?

Built in fonts are not easily downloadable. Most packages available online are copies of Microsoft's TrueType package which is designed for Windows users. You can always pay a hefty fee here for it if you're desperate. In the meantime though, let's just try and fix it. Open up Font Book > select Times New Roman > File > Validate Font. What does that return?

I went to Apple forums next and found all I needed to know -- your pages came up on the searches so I came to you first. There are easy remedies to all the problems on this thread and I recommend that people go to the apple forums and type in Times New Roman font.

This is how you change your font and get to italics

Put your cursor onto your top left part of your screen while on word (fullscreen). Then click font and then click font collection and then WEB and then click times new roman:Smirk:

This also give you the option to have it bolded or italicized

That just lists web friendly fonts. That doesn't give you the option to reinstall or download it.
