Time Machine couldn’t complete the backup to “TM”

Routing TM backup failed with the following message
“/Users/thomasgardner/Library/Trial/Treatments/SIRI_DIALOG_ASSETS/factorPacks/62e81c317613a1631383416b/assets/com.apple.siri.dialog.dailybriefingflowplugin/dialog/DailyBriefingReminders.catfamily/RemindersSummary.cat/fr.cat.bin” could not be backed up.
Running a M1 Mac mini with Monterey. TM disk has 622GB free
Could anyone suggest a solution please?

Is there anything of value and can you just delete the offending files...???

This issue hasn't been flagged up before during TM backups, I've not knowingly stored anything in the folder.
From the error message it seems to be something to do with Siri, which I don't use.
There seems a split on what to do in the articles, one suggests that the trial folder is related to fixes.
One article describes how to delete the trials folder, but if the folder does relate to fixes then I'm not sure if the consequences if it is deleted

Have you tried creating a backup using Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) or SuperDuper! (SD!)???

I don't know about SuperDuper, but there is a good chance that Carbon Copy Cloner will let you know exactly what might be wrong with the folder, if it thinks that anything is actually wrong or corrupt.

Is a process named triald stealing lots of CPU? Or maybe ~/Library/Trial is huge, or filling your backups? Maybe it’s all just one of Apple’s Experiments.
