Why is my TC formatted to FAT32? Only just noticed that and I guess it's so Windows machines can connect and share files too.

But does it make a difference speed wise? Cos copying stuff over is hugely slow, which I've always found a bit odd because it's sooo much slower than the internet. Copying stuff back to my Mac doesn't take as long...

-timemachine will work on a hfs+ (usb or internal) formatted drive too, there is windows xp software app that will allow a pc to r/w access a hfs+ formatted devcie.
-unsupported but you can get it to function over a wifi to a windows network NFS file server too.

timemachine, after the first creation, works on files that are marked changed, difficult to get a feel from one secession to another.
