I think I am getting closer to figuring this out. I believe it's an Icloud issue. Last year my computer automatically started backing up to Icloud (and I was like great, everything will be backed up). However, what it did was deleted all the larger files from my actual computer (hence why I can't open any Tiff or PSD file) and then left a placeholder on the computer. That is why when I try to open the files via Photoshop they are greyed out and unable to open. Now I am having issues with getting those files off the cloud and on to my computer where I can actually work on them. I've tried 2 things: 1. make sure I am logged on to my icloud via system preferences (all good there) 2. extended the Cache settings to receive unlimited cache size. Still nothing is working. The files are unable to download to my computer and I don't know how to access them. I'm going to call Apple and maybe someone can walk me through this. Thank you all so much for chiming in here and trying to help me figure this out! - - - Updated - - - Sorry about that.. I'm new here. Note taken.
