Thunderbolt cable transfers slower

Hi,

I purchased a thunderbolt cable to transfer files quickly between my macbook pro and mac mini and it was great until recently after I unplugged it to rearrange some things and now it is painfully slow. Around 5-10mb/s.

I cannot figure out what could be the cause of this.

Any help would be appreciated as I have around 70gb of media to transfer and I don't have that kind of time.

I trust you unmounted everything before unplugging? Can cause serious corruption.
