It is a 14" ibook g4 that im pondering trading for a similar PBG4.

here are the specs:
1.33 ghz processor
1.25gb ram
60gb hard drive
slot-loading superdrive

i also have the restore disc for it (OS 10.3) and iLife 05. The only visible issues are with the rubber feet on the bottom, it is missing two. I would prefer a 15" PB but i might take a 12". I have traded and bought on here a few other times and the parties involved can vouch for me if needed. Send me a pm if you are interested.

Good luck with the sale. I would love to buy but of course I'm broke. :) You seem like a good guy and hopefully you can find something.

bump, and i think i would prefer a 12" PB if possible, i dont want anything older than the 1.33ghz model though. Also the laptop has Os 10.4.10 on it right now, incase you dont want me to wipe the hard disc.

are you looking for a straight up trade or are you including money on your end? the Powerbooks are worth more than iBooks...

it depends on the powerbook configuration. If it had near identical specs then no cash, if it has better specs then i would probably throw in cash or include my copy of OS X, carrying case, mouse, and usb hub in the deal.

Just curious, why trade for a PB of the same specs? It's not going to run any differently....

I can't say I've tried it but you might be able to just buy the top and bottom plates and make them fit. I've never actually seen a PB G4 but I doubt they're much different. Can someone help me any out?

You can also remove the white paint real easy and spray it whatever you wish. The paint is on the inside of the case and comes off with rubbing alcohol.

Pretty sure that only works with the G3 iBooks, as they were made of a different plastic, the G4 ibooks are made with a white plastic, and aren't painted.

The ibook and pb are totally different interiors. Switching out is not an option.

You can, however, paint and get it pretty close (I've sold several custom color ibooks on ebay). You need to do a thorough job prepping, priming, painting, and letting it dry properly, but the reward is pretty grand. Rusto makes an aluminum paint that yields results that can fake a pb. I think I've got a set of covers in that finish in either aluminum or copper in the shop. They're 12" so they won't work for you but I can post a pic if you want to see the look.

I really hate to break this to you man, but the odds of you finding someone to trade with are very slim. I don't think anyone will flat out trade you iBook for PB. Why get a smaller screen anyway? I think if anyone did trade with you, you'd get a similar machine, with less RAM. And as a PowerBook owner who treats the thing like a holy tool, I'm telling you it's gonna dent, Aluminum or Titanium.

If you really love the look of the PB 12", stash about $200 away, Sell your IB for about $1000 (A grand should be easy if you include all that stuff anywhere but ebay). Grab this http://www.welovemacs.com/pbg4133super.html and take the rest of your money and put RAM into it and all that stuff.
It might be some work, but it's more plausible than trading.

Goodluck but I don't know why anyone would do this man? haha.

And btw, my Al Powerbook has NO dents or major scratches of any kind? I do keep really really good care of it tho.

Anyway goodluck but I'd give up on the idea of a straight up PB for IB trade, like I wouldn't even trade my PB (Specs in Sig) but that might be because I'm in love with it lol. :)

Ummmm

Trade an iBook for a Powerbook?

Hmmm I'd like to trade my Dodge Ram for a Viper as well, but... I don't make ridiculous posts on a Dodge forum.

Don't kick him around. He straight up wants a trade and would like to know if anyone is willing to do it for even less specs than what hes got.

Maybe it would never happen, but it doesn't hurt to ask...perhaps someone would want to trade their 12"pb for a 14" ibook based solely on screen size.

Oh btw ibookclamman300 I think I've got some extra feet, if I don't a bag of six only cost $2.25 +tax (thats what i paid) from apple I had to order them last year. (I was actually kinda mad that apple wouldn't send them for free with my applecare warranty but they said they don't cover cosmetic feet through applecare.) PM me about them and I'll see if I can find them and mail them to you, I just moved so it might be awhile before I find them.
