Another office question...

I am used to right clicking and being able to look up synonyms for words when I was in Word or even Outlook when writing an email. Is there a program that's available for that use in macmail and the like?

In any Mac app you can do this by resting your cursor over the relevant word (I tend to click on it as well, just in case) and then pressing command+option+D.

Command+Option+D is the ejector seat...

There's a video about MartinS's suggestion here. If you happen to use Firefox you'd miss having it because Apple's dictionary is automatic only with apps written in Cocoa. Since I use Firefox that isn't a Cocoa app, I use a dictionary extension set up so that Shift-clicking a word opens dictionary.com's definitions or thesaurus. But you can have the extension use any other online dictionary, I believe.

Thanks Brown... I use Firefox as well... which is the command key on my mac? I know, DUH right? LOL

The Command key: a.k.a. the Apple key. The middle key is Option. Then comes Control. (I used to call Control the Edward Platt key, but that's too obscure, now. Not that is wasn't then, either.)

OK, I must be dense because when I press the command, control and D absolutely nothing happens! ??? I do appreciate everyone's help though....
