Okay, well, you know the red button at the top of windows that closes them ? Well why do some applications have a black dot in the middle of the exit button (or red button)? Microsoft word has this, and so do other apps. But safari, mail, and firefox dont. See the attachment to see what i mean.

So, what is this black dot mean ?

i dont have no mac's
in word, for example, that shows that the document has changed and that it needs to be saved before it closes....open a word document, save it, change it and then look, and then save it again and then look at the red button...youll notice it doesnt have that black dot anymore...

...basically it is telling you that your window has changed and you need to save
