Syncing MAIL and iCloud

I am trying to get my iPhone 3 and MBP to become friends....

I use Mail with a POP3 account.
I would like Mail and my iPhone, which checks the same POP3 account, to remain synced. Is there anyway to do this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
