Sync iPhone to Mac after Changing Phone Number

I'm planning to change my iPhone phone number. If I do this, will the iPhone 4 still be recognized by my Macbook Pro (OS X / Safari) when I plug it in? I have reached my limit of adding to this particular Mac. So I'm wondering if it will allow me to sync the same phone despite it have a new number.

Maybe it will recognize the serial number as the same phone and disregard the new phone number?

Any thoughts?

It recognizes the device serial number. Just like on the iPod/iPod Touch/Shuffle/Nano
