I have Aperture 2, am about to install Aperture 3; but don't want the program to spend lots of time searching out Faces & Places.

Is it possible to Turn Off/Disable Faces & Places in Aperture 3? And how do you do this?

Thanks.

Absolutely,
Go to the preferences and under general unclick "Enable Faces"

And for Places go to the Advanced tab and change "Lookup in Places" from automatically to never.

Then, if want to get rid of the icons in the tool bar, just command drag the Places & Faces icons out of the tool bar.

If you want them back, just follow the instructions in reverse.
To bring back the icons, right click on the tool bar and select "customize toolbar".
Locate the icons and drag them back onto the tool bar, or just drag the default set up.
