MacInWIn Thank you for the welcome! Here's my problem. I just had my late August 2008 iBeast desktop (four gigs of RAM 1 terrabyte of storage) fatally crash in July of this year, and I had to buy a new computer. Lost two months worth of stuff, but thankfully I did have 8 terrabytes of western digital storage boxes, mostly all full now, of stuff from 2006 till now... except for those last two months... which I had not yet converted to deep storage. (was not running TIME MACHINE)... The above link talks about "burning things to discs," I have no super drive on this NEW computer that I bought in August of 2015 when I had to buy one. I did not spring for the $79 thing... I burn DVDS and CDS on my old OFF LINE 2006 White Tiger Mac, which no longer speaks to the internet, nor to this new computer, at all... if I update it, I LOSE THE ABILITY to EXPORT film to my CAMERA!! (Thanks, Apple!!) I had to change it back to Nov of 2006, where it shall forever live... I am (on the internet) NOW driving a $1500 iMAC desktop 21.5 inch (late 2013) 10.10.5 device, whatever any of that means... I am from the days before the internet, one who understands none of this (I am 54) and I became a film maker who was forced to start using computers for editing. Only MAC had any real system in 2006, and so I got into it and DAVID POGUED my way through how to use the thing as there were never any books in the box... My other computer is a WHITE ONE, as Sheldon Cooper calls it, running TIGER late '06 desktop, which still works. Here is what I want to do... I sell films on AMAZON. I have about fifty or so out there now. Several years ago, Amazon came up with a very stupid idea of not allowing us to send in DVDS any longer, but to upload source material through an .iso file ONLY. I have no idea what to do. I have .movs and .dvs and now, these .m4v things... but how to make one into an .iso that will load to Amazon's Createspace site??? NO CLUE! I need to convert these MAC files such as .mov, .dv. or .m4v into .iso. Some of these files are four gigs or more in size. In your explanations, please say what thing to press and where. I will get lost in the jargon unless you do! "Mounting disc files" and other instructions may seem standard to you guys, but you need to say, "You see that little thing in the corner? Yeah, press that!" And again, I do thank you for anything you can do to help me do this thing. I am currently mailing all of these films to a friend in Georgia who himself has no idea what he is doing, but he loads the film, and the machine makes it into the file for him, which he then sends me back on the USB stick... a real pain!! I basically need to change files that already exist on the computer hard drive, from MAC stuff like .mov to .iso files... and I need a blow by blow account of how to use the DISC UTILITY thing for 4 gig or greater films!! MOST of the stuff is GRAYED OUT, and WILL NOT be available to SELECT when I get into doing it, anyway... either that, or it does not even show up in the white box of choices on the left, to even select... there is HARD DRIVE, and stuff like that, but NO movies... and when I select CONVERT, (next to NEW IMAGE) as I was shown on YOUTUBE, the selection drops down my choice as GRAYED OUT, and it just looks at me and does nothing... Thanks!!! Geo
