switcher noob who needs help

I got my new mac the other day and did the erase and install thingy (don't ask) and i found that i could no longer run software made for mac os 9 as i could before. How do i get it back on ????? Apart from this i think mac's rule !!!!!

no need to help now - i just figured it out - i did'nt install the rest of the software just the mac os
