Subwoffer cable?

Does any one know if/why you have to use a special subwoofer cable? Such as http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...t&productCategoryId=cat08055&id=1055770043878.

if your subwoofer uses those rca jacks, you shouldn't have to use that cable, something similar will do, this should work: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=312304&pfp=SEARCH, though it depends also on these cables' max power handling/output and how many watts your subwoofer has.

Although only semi on topic, FWIW I ALWAYS suggest people look at www.cobaltcable.com for their higher end cable needs. Ive done business with them a few times and their quality is OUTSTANDING, however it may be a little overkill for some (most) applications.
