Iomega really used crummy components in the manufacture of the Zip hardware, using the mindset that it's "consumer" equipment, so they didn't really bother making it very good. Poor quality components and a rather sub-standard attention to manufacturing are a disastrous combination for a data storage solution.I sincerely hope you weren't relying on Zip disks for backup, either. The disks' magnetic properties degrade quickly. Grab an 8GB USB flash drive at the store for $25 and replace every one of those Zip disks!</blockquote>
