I have a black MacBook. When I turn it off and come back later to turn it on, the case is extremely hot as if it has been on for a couple of hours. When I try to turn it on, it wont turn on at all. I have to take the battery out and replace it again before it will turn on again. When it does load up I've lost nearly 50% of my battery's charge.
The first time this happened I got an error report to send off to Apple. I wait till the screen goes completely black before closing the lid otherwise it goes into sleep mode.

Any help would be appreciated.

You said first time, has it already been sent to Apple for repairs?

Nope, I've only had it for two weeks, and it happened this Tuesday and today.
The error report was one of those things that you have to send over the internet, unfortunately I was no where near a place with a connection.

Last thing I'd check are the sleep settings, make sure it shuts off when you want it to. If not, definitely take it back for repair - it's only two weeks old

I had this same problem with my white 2ghz macbook, when it happens you can here the hard drive spinning at pretty fast speeds and something that sounds like the processor working very hard. what I did is make sure after you shutdown to check if the hdd is spinning if it is then tap the power button once!
