My MacBook Air (mid-2013) is acting up. I recently downloaded a game - Hitman: Absolution - and when it fully downloaded I was able to start playing, but the app began to redownload, even though I can play the game fully. This app is 20GB so I am a little worried. Also, the storage for the Mac indicates that there is 179 GB left on my hard drive but under "About this Mac" there is no space. It even says that apps take up 264GB when the hard drive is only 250GB. Does someone have a fix for both these problems?

Wow there is something really weird going on. Nothing should just start downloading without the user starting or approving it.

I am not sure what is going on with your hard drive. It is impossible to have 264GB in Apps with a 250GB total SSD size. Are you sure you are reading that right? Maybe it is like 26.4GB????

If the app downloaded twice you can look into your download folder and see if it is there and delete it. Also once it is installed into the apps folder the download file can be deleted.

I would recommend backing up your MB Air as this is always a good idea.
