I've seen one other person post on this topic: I have approximately 1000 cd's and am in the process of importing a good chunk of them into my new MacBook. I have noticed on occasion that if I'm working with an older disc that has a scratch on it, iTunes may freeze up in the middle of importing that song. I've tried simply unchecking the check box next to that tune but it does not bring the program to a stop. Nothing else does either. I would say that out of the 300 albums I've imported so far I've had to use force/quit about ten times and then restart iTunes. Of course, I always try to clean my discs as well as I can before importing, but you can't catch everything. Is there any other way to stop iTunes from importing a track after it has already frozen? Anything other than force/quit just gives me a pinwheel that goes on forever (it literally ran all night on one occasion.)
