I have been searching for this file for quite some time now. All links point back to the same site which is no longer in service. This allows you to silence or mute the startup sound. Does anyone have a copy or know where I can get a copy of this? I am running 10.3.9

do a search for startup sound. there are several threads about it. there is a keyboard shortcut that silences the startup sound.

you can not have the start up sound if you turn off the volume before you shut down the computer or restart it
